In 2025, Yüreğir Municipality took a major step to tackle heavy metal pollution in the Seyhan River, a vital water source in Adana, Türkiye.
With one of the project partner, Development Policy Foundation (DPF), this initiative is implemented under the iMERMAID programme, introduced as an innovative and cost-effective water monitoring solution. Using advanced electrochemical sensing technology, local teams can now detect harmful pollutants like copper, lead, and cadmium directly in the field.
Better monitoring means faster action. By investing in practical, scalable solutions, we can protect ecosystems, safeguard public health, and support communities that depend on clean water.
With continued support, this approach can expand to more regions amplifying impact and accelerating progress toward zero pollution.
At DPF, we believe in supporting innovative, locally driven solutions that deliver lasting environmental impact.
