Ukraine Arch&Engineerign LAB

Innovations for the public space

autor: Sylwia Szparkowska

Effective, energy saving and good, modern quality – in 2016 our Foundation searched for Polish creative businesses which can be implemented in public space in Ukraine. The project end with tangible results: an online consultancy tool www.garnank.org (and it’s mobile version) was created. The international architectural workshops lead to create an illumination of a public, natural bath place on Dnipro bank. The area was equipped by unusual, modern benches created by the young architects basing on computer algorithms. All the actions followed deep consultation process: using on-line tools and direct consultations (charrette, consultations on the construction site) made by our Foundation and our partner Top-Kaya.

The main purpose of the project is the promotion of the creative business solutions for public space – and the business partners helped us a lot with organizational issues. They provided their stuff free of charge or with significant discounts. We want to thank to leading Polish companies: the producer of small architecture Puczynski, the producer of lightening solutions ES System, architectural&design group +48 and IT solutions provider Venu.pl

Still the main donor remains the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who co-financed the whole initiative called “Arch & Engineering LAB. Implementation and promotion of Polish creative, technological and technical solutions for the public space in Ukraine”.

The project partners where the city of Nova Kakhovka, the Regional Development Agency in NK and Top-Kaya from Kiev.

Please find some project materials and some photos. To get more information go to FB garnank.org, the architectural workshops FB: So eas+y and our own FB profile Development Policy Foundation.
